Baltimore's 'Charm'tastic Mile' Seeks Unprecedented 100-Year Agreement with Mayor Scott

The "Charm'tastic Mile" of Baltimore, a 1.3-mile corridor connecting downtown, the Inner Harbor, and Harbor East, is seeking an unprecedented 100-year agreement with the City of Baltimore and Mayor Brandon Scott. The proposed agreement aims to secure the long-term recognition and development of the trademarked street, which has been listed among the top 10-15 most famous streets in America by Google search.

The initiative comes as the city moves forward with a nearly $1 billion construction project at the Inner Harbor, expected to be completed in 2030. The "Charm'tastic Mile" is positioned to benefit from and contribute to this redevelopment. The street, which was introduced to Charm City on April 25, 2016, celebrated its 10th anniversary this year, receiving honors from Mayor Scott and Governor Wes Moore.

According to Derrick E Vaughan, an analyst for Famous Streets & Sports Culture In America, the 100-year agreement will ensure that the ownership of the "Charm'tastic Mile," its iconic logo, and street signs remain in Baltimore permanently. The street is one of the few in the United States to hold a USPTO registered trademark, joining the ranks of the Magnificent Mile, Rodeo Drive, and the Vegas Strip. It was published as a USPTO trademark on September 15, 2020.

The "Charm'tastic Mile" also gained prominence when the Baltimore edition of MONOPOLY was launched on October 24, 2025. The street was highly featured on the game board, with its marquee placement on the Chance cards, licensed by Hasbro Games.

The corridor's significance extends beyond local recognition. Vaughan noted that as the popularity of famous streets and sports culture continues to grow globally, USPTO trademark streets and other famed streets will become larger brands in the global economy. The "Charm'tastic Mile" is seen as a major catalyst in this trend.

Efforts to secure the agreement are expected to conclude within the 2026 calendar year. The proposed 100-year term would coincide with the upcoming USA 250th anniversary celebrations, further embedding the street's role in the city's heritage.
